I feel like I over use the words - unique, charming, amazing but it's because they all apply to all these Tuscan hill towns. None more so than Assisi. This place has the added benefit of it's connection to the Catholic church and The Vatican. It is immaculate and very well kept. Also due to the fact that The Pope is in attendance in the city from time to time - they know how to handle crowds of people. Parking is plentiful and access to the basilica is streamlined.
